This approach can lead to mental health issues, and ultimately hinder artistic expression. That's why I believe it's crucial to promote an holistic approach to performance at all levels.

An effective ritual will help you connecting to your unique and authentic self, achieving new heights of artistic expression and unleash your full potential.

 Let's explore what an effective routine for voice professionals could look like.

  •  Silence time: Taking a few moments to get centred and tune into your own senses. 
  •  Body warm-up: This can range from yoga short sequences to regular stretching to Qigong and so on.
  •  Breathing activity: Ground and connect to your inner rhythm as well as awaken your breathing muscles.
  •  Sounding: Awaken your fold, let the sound flow. This can range from standard warm ups to your very own way of letting your sound flow and take space.
  •  Mindful practices: E.g. Affirmations and meditations to release stress, boost confidence, gain clarity, connect to your full potentials.
  •  A moment to set your intentions and express gratitude: To help you move forward and face the day with a grateful heart and ready to take positive action.

Unlock Your Potential with My Inspiring Morning Ritual - Here's a Hint to Get You Started!

Designing a morning ritual that prioritizes feeling good and connecting with your purpose can be a a real game changer. It's essential to keep in mind that the ritual isn't about perfection or technique, but about establishing a deeper connection with yourself and your message.

By dedicating as little as 15 minutes each morning to connect with your inner self, you can access your full potential and set a positive tone for the rest of your day. As you integrate this practice into your daily routine, you may discover that you want to place more emphasis on your morning ritual, even if it necessitates waking up a little earlier. The key is to tailor your ritual to what works for you and concentrate on activities that bring you happiness, motivation, and a sense of purpose. 

Bear in mind that your delivery is most influential when it emanates from a place of connection and equilibrium, so make your morning ritual a "safe haven" to connect with your mission and your genuine sound and message. Whether it's practicing mindfulness, writing in a journal, stretching, or any other activity that makes you feel good, make sure to treat yourself to the luxury of beginning your day on the right note.

Here's a hint of what I do:

I always start my mornings in silence and make myself a cup of warm herbal tea. I enjoy the silence for a few minutes before sitting on my mat in a crossed leg sitting position and bringing the focus to a slow and deep diaphragmatic breathing while holding the mug in my hands and feeling its warm temperature. This is the moment when I acknowledge being gifted with a new day ahead and express gratitude towards this opportunity and my talents. This is also when I set my intentions for the day ahead.

I eventually proceed with a gentle body warm-up, sometimes a few sun salutations or stretches targeting specific areas, and move according to what my body needs. I integrate mindful breathing and sounding to my body awakening.

I move back to a sitting position when I feel ready and gently start my voice warm-up, applying gentle sounds and single notes first, playing with resonators, and building up gradually into more complex sounds when I feel ready to do so. Then, using my knowledge in the field of sound healing, I enjoy giving myself five minutes to focus on sounding with intention.

I usually dedicate the last part of my ritual to a short-guided meditation and positive affirmations, which I mostly enjoy practicing actively, so putting them into sound rather than repeating them mentally. 

Now, I’m ready to give thanks for this “Me time” and to kick start the day with the right mindset, a ready body, and voice!
